Jeel Patel
Five years of building the software that field-service contractors actually run — quoting the work, routing to it, dispatching it. This site is about the part none of that software could see.
Track record
- 2021 — 2024InvoiceOwlCo-founder and CEO
Estimating and invoicing software for contractors — electricians, plumbers, HVAC. Started in the second year of a business degree, building for a trade he had to learn from the outside in.
Acquired in March 2024.
- 2024 — nowUpper Route PlannerChief executive
Route optimisation for delivery and service fleets. The problem moves from what the job costs to how a person physically gets to it, in what order, and what happens when the plan changes mid-route.
- 2024 — nowFieldCampCo-founder
AI-first field operations: dispatch, scheduling, work orders, and the agents that run them. Field-service software that learns the operator rather than making the operator learn software.
Why cooling, and why now
Each of those products solved a coordination problem inside software. Quoting the work. Routing to it. Dispatching the right person. They worked, and the same limitation kept showing up underneath all three.
The software knew everything about the job and almost nothing about the equipment the job existed to repair. It could tell you where every technician was and not whether any of them was permitted to open the unit in front of them.
On a residential call that is an inconvenience. In a data hall, where cooling failure becomes load failure in minutes, it is an outage. That gap is what this site investigates, and whether it is big enough to be its own product is genuinely still an open question.
Where to check this
Nothing above should be taken on this site’s word. Crunchbase is an independent record he does not maintain, and InvoiceOwl has been under different ownership since the 2024 acquisition. The rest are first-party and should be read as such.

Getting hold of him
Design-partner enquiries and corrections both go to the same place. If something on this site is wrong — a standard misquoted, a figure that does not hold — that is worth more than a compliment.
